With back to school just around the corner, I am looking for ways to streamline our routines to make those hectic mornings a little easier. I am stocking our freezer with waffles, pancakes and muffins to have quick and easy breakfasts, as well as keeping easy recipes, like this Overnight Baked Peach French Toast, at the ready at all times.

Overnight Baked Peach French Toast puts a summer twist on our favorite French toast recipe (this Baked Pumpkin French Toast).  In lieu of pumpkin and spices, it has delicious, juicy peaches in every bite. Otherwise it is made with the same cinnamon bread cut into cubes, the same wonderful buttery brown sugar oat crumble topping that everyone loves and also made lighter using nonfat evaporated milk.  Everything about this Overnight Baked Peach French Toast is just so good…and easy too!…

Peach Buttermilk Bundt Cake | alidaskitchen.com

This peaches and cream-inspired Peach Buttermilk Bundt Cake recipe is made by combining my favorite elements from two cake recipes – this Blueberry Buttermilk cake and this Poppy Seed cake.  Nothing beats buttermilk in baked goods, which becomes even more delicious when it is combined with cream cheese and vanilla. The cinnamon sugar swirl makes any cake absolutely irresistible, especially when combined with diced peaches.

With tailgating season upon us, bring on the tasty munchies!  While I am not necessarily a game watching fan, I am definitely a fun food fan! I especially love coming up with bite-sized finger foods that are a bit healthier yet super tasty (like these Jalapeno Popper Quinoa Bites)  With this in mind, I wanted to come up with a fun recipe combining another tailgating favorite, buffalo chicken.  As always, it was a natural transition to come up with Buffalo Chicken Quinoa Bites.

25+ Back to School Recipes Kids Can Help Make! | alidaskitchen.com #recipes #HorizonB2S

Today we are officially back to school.  It is Adam’s first day of Pre-K, and we are all so excited!  Greta and I will miss him during the day, but look forward to seeing his smile every afternoon.  I know he will be excited to come home (and for Greta’s nap) so that we can make a snack together, do some dinner prep, maybe even make some muffins for easy breakfasts throughout the week.  Adam loves to help in the kitchen.  I always find the more involved kids are in the kitchen, the more likely they are to try what they make.

As we head back into the school year, I wanted to compile a list of recipes from my favorite food bloggers that are not only kid-approved delicious, but are also kid-friendly to make!  From no-bake bites to frozen fruit bars to easy snacks, fast dinners and more, this a great list to have handy.  By presenting healthy options, you empower kids to make healthy choices while having fun too!  …

Buffalo Chicken Lasagna Cups | alidaskitchen.com #SundaySupper

After making the Spinach Lasagna Cups recipe for last Sunday, I had another tasty idea pop into my head that I had to make right away – Buffalo Chicken Lasagna Cups.  I don’t typically like to share similar recipes back-to-back, but these were so good, they simply could not wait.

Buffalo Chicken Lasagna Cups are made with layers of cheese, veggies, spicy, buffalo-sauce soaked shredded chicken and more cheese.  In other words, they combine some of the most delicious game day foods (or any day foods, duh!)  into a  wonderful, bite-sized lasagna. The concept is the same as the Spinach Lasagna Cups, with lasagna-style layering, using wonton wrappers in place of noodles.   They are quick and easy to make, and bake up in a snap!…

Over 75 Avocado Recipes - Alida's Kitchen

In the months leading up to the holidays, there have been dessert recipes popping up all over the place.  While I’m never one to complain about a good dessert, after a while I start craving healthy recipes.  Lately it has been all about the avocado.  My kids love avocados plain, and I’ve been whipping them into smoothies, as pasta sauce, in place of mayo in sandwiches and salads, even using avocados in place of butter in baking!  Since over 75% of fat in an avocado is unsaturated, it’s a great substitute for foods that are  high in saturated fat.

While I frequently make delicious avocado recipes at home, it seems very few have made it on the blog.  That will change soon, as I get these recipes ready to share with you.  In the meantime I gathered over 75 wonderful avocado recipes from my favorite blogger friends.  Enjoy!  …

Chocolate Banana Whole Wheat Waffles are made with buttermilk, whole wheat flour and sweetened with mashed bananas.  They are a delicious and healthy way to enjoy chocolate for breakfast!

While usually a pancake house, we recently branched out into the world of waffles with Sunbutter Wafffles.  I was excited to find these Chocolate Banana Whole Wheat Waffles because the flavor is similar to my everyday oatmeal – cocoa powder and naturally sweetened with banana.   The chocolate and banana are subtle, yet together with the buttermilk, produce a wonderful breakfast treat.  These waffles are delicious and are a welcome addition to our breakfast rotation!…
